After a long covid break, this was a much needed family vacation.
It was planned in a very hasty manner but I loved it - we surely overpaid for everything whether for flights, hotels, taxis but it was worth it. My dad would disagreee though.
After we landed in Goa, we went to a local shack on the way to our resort in calangute.
we were headed to our resort Antares - which is my most favourite resort. the minute we stepped into the property, it opens to a heaven like view of the sea and tall tress. It was unbelievable- no internet picture has done justice to it. Since we reached around the sunset due to heavy traffic- it was like cherry on the cake.
once you enter, the resort reception is just outside the antares club. One has to cross the club and take the stairs down to the rooms, if it is booked for the beach view.
We stayed at the beach for while, as the resort had its private beach, we walked a bit then got back to deck up for the New Year's Night which we booked at 'tomato beach side restaurant' it was buffet dinner with some music n dance, followed by fireworks at the New Year Countdown. It was magical to experience that on a beach.
We left around 12:20 am when 2022 officially began then we headed towards our resort. Our resort had its own new year's party which went on till 3-4 am, apart from that right next to own resort another resort had its party till 7 am in the morning. The loud music surely made difficult for us to sleep.
Next morning, we woke up, did some breakfast and went to explore the beach and its nearby places. We just had to take few steps from our room to the beach.
God I love beach, its therapeutic for me but surprisingly I have never been in the beach. Though I know how to swim but have always been scared of the waves. So, this was the first time I went inside as my brother kept insisting that I must try it. I loved it, I can't wait to be back!
Shortly after that, we got ready and headed to Marbela Resort for lunch, but before that we stopped at a random shack for some energy drinks as it was super hot - coming from 8 degrees in Delhi that time to 35 degrees in Goa.
I had the best Biryani of my life, I can't describe how good it was. And, just like that we spend our afternoon till sunset there, magical evening.
We went back to Antares, we walked a bit played volleyball, had some treats. Romeo lane was right next to our resort, we could enter through the beach. So we went there for dinner, sat near the deck area and it was a pretty night. Though they didn't have a lot in their menu available due to prior New year party. We had a dish or two, and called off the evening.
This was our last day, later that evening we had flight home. We woke up, did breakfast which was on the deck, our rooms were shifted from swimming pool floor to the lower floor which was closed to the beach. This way we got to experience both of their top category of rooms in 3 days.
Took a dip into the pool watching over the beach. After that we packed and were ready to checkout, but we wanted to experience Antares restaurant as well so we stayed for lunch. Since the view from their restaurant is to die for, we sat and enjoyed the view with scrumptious food. Witness the view!
Since, this whole trip was planned, I was super excited to visit Calamari (one of my favourite places in Goa) but didn't get the chance. So, before we had to be at the airport we had some time to spare. I took my family to Calamari, we ate, relaxed and enjoyed yet another sunset with some walks on the beach. It was perfect ending to a beautiful trip.
And just like that we spend our first family holiday on New Years 2021-22 <3
